    Project Communications Officer

    Every year 950 Australian children and adolescents will be diagnosed with cancer and every week nearly three Australian children and adolescents will die of cancer.  Our client's vision is to save the lives of all children with cancer and eliminate their suffering.  They are looking for a Project Communications Officer to join their busy team!

    THE ROLE:

    The Project Communications Officer role will be responsible for overall development and management of the roll out of the communications plan for the campaign, liaising with external PR agency, internal communications team, media, ambassadors, key partners and the internal fundraising team to ensure all elements for the campaign come together cohesively and every opportunity is maximised.

    The successful candidate must be a skilled and experienced communicator with a natural ability for both verbal and written communication skills including digital communications, the creative talent to direct the compilation of visual media such as video, EDMs and web pages is also essential.

    The main responsibilities include:

    - Management of the external communications plan for a national campaign across all media – TV, radio, print, outdoor and digital
    - Liaison with all key partners and stakeholders including the internal steering committee, external PR agency, scientists and spokespeople, key commercial partners, media, ambassadors/celebrities and families
    - Supervision of the national campaign website and digital property to include preparation of copy content, management of partner recognition, updates via video blogs, photographs and links to partner sites
    - Contribution to delivery of SEO and digital strategy to drive traffic to the website and interactivity of interested parties including potential purchasers for the house
    Promotion of the national campaign across other relevant digital sites
    - The plan for and development of EDMs for interested parties and supporters to ensure dynamic and compelling communication
    - Engagement of supporters via social media sites such as, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
    - Management of media activity at the build site including relevant banners and signage to promote partners
    - Contribution to the development of advertising material for TV, radio, print and outdoor billboards
    - Analysis and reporting of all relevant tracking data for digital activity e.g. traffic and engagement stats for the website, open and click through rates for the EDMs, recommendation for future activity based on this analysis
    - Management of ambassador relationships in conjunction with Head of Fundraising & Marketing and partners as relevant
    - Management of specific expenses related to media and communications activity, reporting back expenditure vs. budget 
    - Support for partnership management in terms of partner recognition through website and media working in conjunction with the Corporate Partnerships team
    - Support for the community engagement strategy and activity in conjunction with the Marketing team
    - Support for the internal communications strategy in conjunction with the People & Culture team

    YOU:

    - The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in communications, media including project management and a minimum of 3 years in a communications role including management of media
    - Demonstrated experience running a similar communications campaign/project
    - Demonstrated experience of copywriting and pitching to generate PR
    - Demonstrated experience of digital communications including website copy management and content generation
    - Experience of stakeholder management, would be useful for this to include high profile personalities
    - Experience in financial management including budgetary responsibility
    - Experience with project and communication planning tools
    - Experience of implementing a strategic approach operationally
